Q. What is involved in staging a house?

A. There are 3 phases to preparing a house for resale:
1. DECLUTTER & CLEAN.
• Removing clutter helps rooms appear larger and empathsizes the house’s features. Closets and cupboards should appear spacious inside.
• Clean, clean, clean everywhere and everything! A dirty house will turn off buyers.
2. NEUTRALIZE, REPAIR & UPDATE.
• Pack up all personal items and, if needed, paint walls a neutral color. Showcase the house not your belongings.
• Broken tiles, a dripping faucet, etc. will not command a top price.
3. RESTYLING.
• Correct furniture arrangement, good lighting, pleasant scents all steer a buyer’s eye to the best features.

Q. Why stage your house for resale?

A. There are four things that affect the sale and the selling price of your house - location, current market, condition, and presentation. You can’t change the location or the current real estate market BUT you can change the condition of your house and its presentation. This is where a professional home stager can assist you in preparing your house for resale so it sells quickly and for more money.
