Give your silk flower arrangements an added dimension of realism by mixing in live greenery with them. Arrange your silk stems in a vase as you would cut flowers. Fill around the stems with decorative stones to hold the flowers in place. The stones also hide the plastic stems in glass vases. Fill the vase with water up to the top of the stones and add the cut greenery. Be sure to trim the greenery stems of any leaves that would go below the water line to avoid decaying leaves. Change out the water every 4-5 days. The greenery should last two weeks before needing to be replaced.
The choice of greenery is only limited to your imagination. Try different types of cuttings to see which last best. The arrangement shown here has camelia stems added to silk lilacs.
